YAM PORRIDGE WITH DRIED FISH & IRU

Somtimes even when you take a shopping list to the market, you end up buying stuff that is not on that list.
So goes the story of the Dried Fish in this Porridge. I usually buy a lot to last me a whole month but when i went shopping for Provisions ( If you stay in Nigeria, you will understand
"provision" in this context), I saw some guys hawking these broken dried fish, like tiny fishes with broken ones in them. I thought to buy, not only because when i bargained it was pretty afordable but it will serve the purpose of "pressing things" in my recipes.
It came in quite handy in the preparation of this porridge, also the #Iru gave this recipe a native feel that Bobos said to me .... "I totally enjoyed this Porridge"
Peel, clean and cut yam to chunks.
Put them in a pot and add some water to just two inches above the level of the Yam.
Add cleaned dry fish, Prawns, Onions, Iru, Pepper to taste and cook till soft then add Palm oil.
Season to taste, Stir and add Pumpkin leaves. With a wooden spoon, stir to incoporate all ingredients well and this easy mouthwatering Porridge is ready. (Swipe left to see pictures)
