November 3rd of every year has been set aside to celebrate SANDWICH in the Food Community. This year, i am not skipping this celebration despite my tight schedule because i have a Sandwich Story (Lol)
My Brodas and Sistas, Pregnancy cravings are real, if you think say na lie, ask your Mama. Anyway rather than craving dust, sand and plenty odd things i heard about, i had very classy cravings which included lots of Ofada Rice (Tanks Martins), Akara, Agoyin Beans and Sandwich. Inshort, i had a Sandwich fight with Bobos courtesy the Preggy Cravings and i moved to guest room for a day (hahahaha...story for anoda day).
Anyway, Sandwiches are very easy to make and They come in various shapes, tastes, sizes, flavours and fillings. For my Preggy Cravings, i didn't mind the fillings all i wanted was the grilled or toasted bread aroma. That was all i wanted and i easily ran to my kitchen to fix myself that bread Aroma that just calmed me.
So check out an easy one i made for myself on one of those days...
INGREDIENTS
Chicken breast
Black Pepper
Salt/Seasoning
Butter
Lettuce
Cherry Tomatoes
Onions
Salad Dressing
PREPARATION
Season Chicken breast with black Pepper, Salt and any seasoning of choice. Melt a table spoon or 2 of butter in a pan then add chicken breast. Cook both sides till they are golden brown
Put a slice of bread on a hot pan and allow to toast till
golden brown. Do not allow it burn and make sure you get that Aroma
Spread butter in the bread
Add washed and shredded Lettuce and Salad cream to your
taste
I love my Onions, you can add a few slices
Cover that layer with a buttered toast then top with the
Chicken breast
Then cover with another buttered toast
This is what the finishing looks like. Well stuffed and
colourful filling, Golden and Crisp toast and that Aroma… OMG! It cured the
Cravings all the time.
