Trust me, when it comes to all the stages of being a woman, I truly do have an idea even if I am yet to experience them all, that is what you get from being the First child of a very loving Mom who is willing to share all her experiences with her daughter regardless of my ability to understand them.

Anyway, Mom recently crossed to the menopausal stage of her life, believe me it was a roller coaster of signs and symptoms, and if you are Nigerian, you will understand me when I say … All the witches fall and Die for the matter … lol. Menopause is that phase where the monthly period ceases to flow and you stop patronizing the sanitary pad manufacturers, it also means that scientifically, the woman can no longer have Babies except Miracle babies like Isaac born of Mrs. Sarah Abraham in the Bible.

Meanwhile, I was always there to allay my Mom’s fears as every symptom she complained of fell in line with what dear Google had to say about Menopause (God Bless Google). The research really helped her cope with the changes she was experiencing in her body. One way to overcome Menopausal symptoms as a woman is to start preparing for it early enough, and one way to prepare is to eat healthy.

Hence my delight when I met Maryse Chatrix of Le Torne who played host to me in France. She is extremely particular about her health. So one lovely Afternoon, we tried out this fantastic desert smoothie using TOFU. Tofu is very high in protein and it’s made from Soya Beans.

Check out Maryse’s recipe and my take on a Healthy Desert that can be served to our Mum’s anytime, Mothers day or not in this my Mother’s Day Fruity Yoghurt recipe…. And our question this week for the Queen of Syrah Give-away is, NAME THE FRUITS USED IN THIS MOTHERS DAY FRUITY YOGHURT. The first and 15th correct answer gets a Carton of Queen of Syrah wine. Love ya!

·         Apples
·         Strawberries
·         Mangoes
·         Bananas
·         Cashew nuts
·         Raisins
·         Lemon
·         Scent Leaves
·         Cracker Biscuits
·         Unsweetened Yoghurt
·         Lemon

Preparation

Process the Cracker Biscuits in a food processor until its fine, or just pieces them with clean hands until it’s as fine as it can get. Another trick is to put them in a plastic bag and crush them till its fine. Pour into fancy Glass cups to form a base then layer with yoghurt.

Now begin to blend each fruit separately with yoghurt. Layer them in the fancy glass cups as you blend. Also blend 2-3 leaves of scent leaves and Layer as well

You can add the chopped Cashew nuts in between the Layers. When you have poured the last layer of fruit, garnish with the raisins, strawberries and lemon wedges. You can also squeeze in some lemon juice.

Enjoy with your Mum on a Lazy afternoon as you reel out all the girly gossips. Click to watch video here.
