EVERYBODY SAY
CHEESE!!
They told me France is home to over 1000 types of Cheeses
coming in various tastes, shapes and styles.
Today, I decided to go down town Bordeaux to visit Elodie
Durelle who runs a Cheese shop. Cheese is packed with some good health benefits
especially Calcium since it is gotten from the milk of Cows, Goats, sheep’s and
even Buffalo and one of the reasons I love to eat Cheese is because of my
trademark smile…. Calcium helps our
Teeth.
Elodie Durelle, a mother of 2 has been running this Cheese
shop for over 3 years, she took me through the array of Cheeses in her shop.
They come in different sizes, shapes, aroma and even with history and legends.
This business of Cheese is quite lucrative because Elodie
told me that in a week, she services over a 100 customers. She shares the story
of Roquefort (Blue cheese) a particular kind of cheese with penicillin which it
got from growing moulds (beautiful shepherd boy legend) and the cheeses shaped
after the Egyptian pyramid had its own story too. Yeah, I won’t forget that of Napoleon Bonaparte,
it was obvious the French have good time for cheese.
Anyway it was time to taste cheese from this shop and Elodie
decided that I taste this muffin shaped Goat Cheese sprinkled with salt and Ash
topping. At the mention of Ash, I knew that was what I should be tasting. Yummy!! I loved every bit of it.
I enjoyed learning about Cheese from Elodie’s shop (watch video here) and I totally
got inspired. Let’s try out this very simple FRENCH BREAD PIZZA with lots of

In a bowl, grate the cheeses and mix together with the butter.
Cut the French bread through with a bread knife. Line the

your baking sheet.
Arrange the Bread the baking sheet and add the mixed

Bring it out from the oven, garnish with spring onions and serve with Cold
