If there is no “ogili and ede“there is no ofe onugbu beside we dont use onions for bitterleave soup may be u meant something else not ofe onugbu!!Get ur facts right!
ReplyDeleteDearest Anonymous, tanks for your criticism (makes me excited, na im be say una dey watch wella. tanks) however, i have my facts very right and for every single thing i place in here i have eaten, prepared and tried. now, if u watched on TV, i clearly stated that this version of the Onugbu is my "Charity begins @ home" Onugbu soup, this style has been prepared by my Great Grandma, Grandma, my Mama and now me (safe to call it a culinary secret lol). I will only recommend dat you try dis style and i bet u will come back here to testify. Onions goes veerrryy well. pls do try it. Tanks again for visiting. APPRECIATED
Delete......Yes, also on Ede, which is cocoa-yam, It serves mainly as a thickener and for this style of Bitterleaf soup u cant use any form of thickener cos the leaves are blended to a consistency that may not need to be thickened, however if u want a thicker consistency than what you got, you can thicken with Egusi(blended melon seeds) or allow soup cook more till its thick.... good luck (thank me when u try this method)
DeletePls where can i get rosemary leave!!But no ogili in ur bitterleaf soup
ReplyDeleteYou can get Rosemary Leaves from the market, departmental stores or the mall... Fresh rosemary leaves are usually not found in Naija, more of dried ones are available here. Also, Ogili is traditional seasoning and you can add it in any of your meals if you fancy (even in tomatoes stews) especially if u crave some native feel, so adding it in dis recipe will be super. tanks much for visiting #big hug
